About iz

iz (they/them) is a doula, collector, and cross pollinator of ancient, ancestral, and queer Jewish rituals and songs that support us as we wander through & sanctify the spirals of time and re-root in an embodied Judaism in relationship with the three mothers- wind, water and fire- and the earth herself. They are tight with the Shechinah, source their spirituality from Sefer Yetzirah and ground their practice in doikeyt, hereness & disability justice. They feel most alive singing from their kishkes, with their hands in the dirt, and climbing rooftops or mountain ridges. After calling the Bay Area home for the last 27 years, they recently uprooted from the redwoods and the ocean, and are re-seeding on Lenni Lenape Land in so-called Philly, PA.
