Cantor Shira Stanford-Asiyo (she/her) is the co-founder of Hamakom, a progressive Beit Midrash and the sole clergy of Ahavat Olam, both in Vancouver, BC. She is a graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2005. Originally from Durham, NC, she moved to Vancouver, BC with her wife in 2018. Previously, she has worked in the Audacious Hospitality (Inclusion and Diversity) Team at the Union for Reform Judaism, as the Executive Director of Jewish Youth for Community Action, and as Kol Bo for Bet Hagivot in Fountain Hills, AZ.
