ALIVE Judaism(s): Spiritual Infrastructure for Collective Thriving

If you know where to seek, you’ll find there’s a movement afoot—a vibrant upswell of spirit and soul, drawn from the wisdom wells of Jewish tradition, to nurture healing, community, joy, and justice amidst the cruelty of empire and the ruins of modernity.

Across the country, like sunflowers bursting out of the cracks of cement, spiritually alive and accessible, lineage-rooted, and liberatory expressions of Judaism are sprouting, growing, and pointing toward the possible.

Drawn from conversations with more than 40 leading Jewish practitioners—rabbis, spiritual leaders, organization builders, teachers, artists, and more—this writing explores a generational shift unfolding in Jewish life in the U.S. It looks at emerging forms of spiritual leadership, Jewish learning, and community life, and seeks to spark imagination around possibilities for strategic collaboration and resourcing to help this ecosystem flourish.
