About Lawrence

Lawrence Dreyfuss is an international Ecstatic Dance producer, performance artist, and spoken-word poet. Based in Brooklyn - he founded The Sabbath Dance - a New York City dance community rooted in Jewish mysticism. This comes out of his time studying at Hebrew College in Boston where he first started hosting dance events. His career recently took him to Asia where he spent six months sharing music across the continent. Before that, he worked in East Africa for two years helping rural communities share stories about hunger and climate change. As an artist, he spent years as part of the staff at New York Theater Workshop (Rent, Hadestown) and has worked on productions that have won various Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize. As a performer he has shared work at Electric Forest in Michigan, poetry clubs in Paris, music festivals in Thailand, beachside raves in Goa, and beyond.
